Completly diffrent suspension set up. The 300C/Magnum/Charger suspension designs are heavily influenced by Mercedes-Benz's technology and AWD systems. Also, the 300C is built on the Mercedes E-Class platform. The Durango's suspension and most of their trucks have been based on thier truck design prior to the DCX merger.. as per MB has yet to establish an acceptable 4WD/AWD platform for the Dodge nameplate. I've yet to find any Mercedes symbols on the Durango or Ram's suspension components... all though they are plastered all over the 300C.

My mom rented a durango with the 5.9 hemi from enterprise last week ( i didn't know you could even get a nice car from them) and I took it for a traditional spanking. I was impressed with the power of the car, and it felt really good to drive. Yeah, the mileage was terrible for local driving...probably worsened by my not lifting my foot from the floor, but supposedly the engine cuts down to 4 cylinders during highway driving.
Anyway, I thought to myself that I would definitley rock that truck if gas weren't $3 a gallon...but i guess not anymore.

well that takes me back.... Trust me its one of the scariest things ive ever experienced... Going 75mph looking to your left and seeing your tire flying across 4 lanes of traffic, an on ramp and a 2 lane median.

Almost had that happen to me... was in the middle of South Dakota and the car started vibrating really bad. Thought it was the road (looked like a washboard), but was still happening when the road smoothed. So I take the next exit and pull into the gas station (closed) to check it out. 2 lugs sheared off.

Its a regular quad cab 1500 short box 2 wheel drive. Is this just a four wheel drive thing?
