I just checked this morning, seems an extra full quart is needed. So I'll be doing oil changes with 7qts of oil now. I can't comment on the benefits of a larger filter, but I can say that oil changes will be MUCH less messy and easier with the filter over there.

I did the kit for two reasons really:

1. Easy hookup of my oil pressure and temp gauges in an ideal location
2. Easy, clean oil changes
3. It's badass

Ok 3 reasons I guess.
