Just read on the DRL relay check. Turns out i do have the "slot" open for the relay. 3 Questions: where can i get the relay? is there any other equipment i need? and if it works, are the low beams on or the high beams at lower wattage?

Thanks

I would try a Ford dealership. I think that it runs the low beams. I don't know for sure though.

They run off of the low beams and are reduced brightness...The Canadain Cars have them so you might want to see if one of our Northern Brothers can get it for us.

Part number F5RZ-14N089-E, list price should be around $26, you can get it from Bill Jenkins.

And it's the high beams at lower brightness. Reference for that fact.

I'll second that Perry.

Hence the inside bulbs will be lit on 98+ cars.

They actually run off of the high beams. It is also true that they run at a lower wattage. But at least on my car they do use the high beam. Hope this helps

The DRL's run lower wattage off the HIGH beam bulbs (inside lights) on both PRE and POST '98 cars . I know this for a fact as I've owned both styles as well as my bro having a '95 and my mom with a '98 Mystique with DRL's . I got all of the relays for the cars at the dealer for about 25 bucks (USD) . Remove the "buss bar" in there & plug in the relay & bingo ... DRL ! laugh

Good luck !

Is yours an empty HOLE ?? If it's an empty HOLE , then the relay is a no-go frown . There's some fancy wiring needed if that's the case . If it's an empty white plug , it should have a gold "jumper" bar across 2 of the slots in the plug . Just undo the "jumper" & plug in the relay .
Your car is a '95 SE , so it should have the plug ...

Wasn't it that if your Contour was built in Mexico, most likely it DOESN'T have the relay plug/buss bar while the ones built in Kansas City DID have the relay plug?
