They make a small bulb that will work. I bought silverfaced EL gages, then put blue LED's into the light sockets to change the needles blue, and it also made the EL gages even brighter.

Last few on this page plus.CLICK ME! They only work one way, so if you put em in, and they don't work, turn the bulb around. They have a +side and -side. Easy to do though. This is what they look like. ( I also swapped ALL interior bulbs to blue LED's from this website. Looks BAD @$$!!! (sorry the pic is blurry, crappy old cam at the time)
