but only temporarily. the stock tranny finally gave out on me. stripped 3rd gear and the differential is TOAST. I have a new tranny on order (custom) with cryo-treated gears, 3.94 R&P, peloquin TBD, and an ACT stg4 clutch. hopefully only out of commision for about 3 weeks. in the meantime, i am rocking the 1995 Escort LX 3-door. holla!

yeah, the engine is fine (well, more than fine ), just need a new tranny. i follow the motto that when something breaks, it's time for an upgrade.

I like that train of thought . I'd like to think , that if either of my Jettas puke their 8-valves , a VR6 is in order ! I may have to save up a while , but it'd sure be cool .

i guess all is not lost...you would have had to upgrade that tranny for your 400+ whp project anyway.....maybe now that will get the fire lit up under you to get it all done at once....
