What's "wrong" IMHO is that the sail panels and side mirror mounts are dark to visually extend the shape of the side windows (or, make the A and C pillars appear thinner). Just like the way the rear doors have a large overlap to make the rear door openings appear larger than they really are. It's a visual trick that the designers felt was necessary, and I tend to agree.
Function before fashion.
