The y-pipe is the same as a Contour?

OK - if that is true, then the headers SHOULD work - but I assumed that the new Mondeo (looks like a big Focus) has a TOTALLY different subframe to the Contour/Mondeo cousins, and thus would have a totally different y-pipe.
