Your 60' are all too high. If you launch at a slightly higher rpm, slip the clutch and don't worry about wheelspin then those will drop. I'd guess some energy suspension motormount inserts would help the wheel hop enough and that would improve the traction to the ground as well. Just technique should bring you down into the 2.3x range with what you got and that would be enough to get you into the mid 15's I'd guess. After that you'll need to start modding a little bit to get it on down to the low 15's.

Yea and what are the conditions at the track such as altitude, temp, humnidity? IIRC, last time I ran the 1/8th I ran a around a 10 flat with just an exhaust. I think I can do better at another track because Dallas goes up 6 feet during the course of the track.

Wow, 2.5 60's? ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif) 2800rpm launches with slipping the clutch to keep the rpms between 2800-3200 will net you some nice 2.2 60' times. Take .3 off your 60' and that's ~.6 off the 1/4. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif) Mark

Only mods are intake and exhaust, i had no wheel hop, and i was launching between 3000-3500, this track isn't the best by any means though.

Scott ran a 13.9 there tho! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif)
BTW I ran 15.8 there with similar mods to you.
I ran a 15.3 there with some just some minor mods, i.e. removed rear mufflers and a generic old style superchip.
Alex what tires are you using? Maybe the issue. I know you had significantly lightened your stereo last time I saw you.

BUT, are you letting the rpm drop or bog a little too much as you let out the clutch? If you launch at 3000+ you should get wheelspin on any SVT with stock tires. I'd guess you start and the rpm is dropping down below 2000 when the clutch bites so that you are out of your power band and the car then lugs to get back up. You'll have to let out on the clutch a little less, maybe just a tad slower so that the revs stay above 2500 when the car just starts to move until you get a few mph. Its hard to explain because it is something you just feel by practice and see by example.
