I switched to the PPs at around 60k. I'm just over 70k now. Would you recommend switching back to the FMs right away, or am I OK to wait till the next "need" for service? Do the PPs put additional stress on my ignition system?
No need to switch. The APP764 is an excellent plug. That is what I have had in mine since the first change at 60,000 miles. Now that Autolite has a fine wire plug with a platinum side wire, I might try it next time, if the prices come down.
No, you are not overloading your ignition system. It was designed for the double plat plug. The ignition system did not change when they started to use the fine wire plug in 96.
