The drop in units with ~25 or so 5mm LEDs just don't cut it. Been covered many times in this section.
Search for "LEDs" or "LED brake" or "LED tail" in this section I'm sure you'll find one of the threads. The best bet is to go with the standard 4" truck modules and do a full retrofit (also been discussed)...otherwise wait. So far none of the drop ins have proven to be sufficient, but the '06 mountaineer is going to have something from Osram that might be viable for retrofit...the "joule" module...it's just over the horizon, i don't know much about it, but it looks promising....built in heatsink too, so you don't have to mess with that.
