Oh and the liberty looks like a$$.

Oh I know it looks like arse.. and Like I said.. it was my opinion only. You've worked on a dozen or so.. jsut liek Joe Bob has worked on a dozen Escapes. Both have thier ups and down. Reliabilty "off the line and otu of the show room".. I'd take the Jeep. down the road, say, 75,000 miles.. they can keep that POS Jeep. Now... the Liberty will run circles around an escape on a mountain top, you can't argue that point. . Escape is a hell of a lto better exterior wise and interior layout, but the Jeep's premium interior has a better feel... but ugly cheap dash board. I guess my coment abotu the "I'd take teh Jeep" thing was more based on Off Road Utitly (ass I said it was ugly already). But, my man said nothing about capabilites.. so I stand in my own doo doo.

Just a few teaser shots.

An escape or Liberty will run circles around it...on a mountain top.

You guys do that???? Wow.

Way back in the day as a service porter.. hell if we knew the rental we were driving (i obviouslt wasn't that ignorant, but). Now, when I moved up to being a New Car Porter and part time Sales... that was a diffrent story. I still remember how many ways to configure the seating/storage in a Montana.

Both V6 4WD's (who would buy a 2wd SUV?). Both very similar in options: 6 disc changer, roof rack, privacy glass, power seat etc. However the Escape has leather and a (aftermarket) hitch. The tribute does not, but does have a sunroof.
The tribute is also a year newer and has 17k less miles. The downside of that specific tribute is that according to carfax it has been in two "minor" accidents. From what I read (one of the police reports) it was just minor stuff like a broken headlamp.

I am going to call the Mazda dealer tomorrow to see if I can get them to put a hitch on it free of charge.

Someone reccomended the liberty, which I do like, but I can't really seem to find one that is in my price range with the equipment and miles the other ute's have. Plus, from what I have read, it gets noticable worse mileage.

From what it seems the Escape/Tribute seem to get high teens for mileage and the liberty gets in the mid teens, in real world driving. Which is like a 25% difference. And with gas inching closer to $3/gal.....well you get the idea.

My price cap is $12k with tax, so most of what I have been looking at are $12k cars, after I haggle down a bit, it works out to about the same in the end.
