About 20k miles ago I replaced the front wheel bearings. Today I had to purchase a new hub from ford and new bearing since the current bearing froze and stripped the hub on the inside. I have lifetime warranty on the bearing and will get my money back but the hub $170.00 + the machine shop charge of 20 dollars to press the old out and new in are out of my pocket.....quite surprised that this happened.....

been known to happen, if the bearing was not pressed in straight it will fail much faster then normal and it could damage the hub, more so if it is let go a long time before it is replaced

Did you replace the spindle nut and properly retorque it after the first R&R?

New spindle nuts came with the drive axles. I replaced both just to be safe...... and they were torqued down to 100 ft lbs if I remember correctly. I did notice that when I took the spindle nut off, it was loose. Bought new Ford spindle nuts which are quite thicker than what came with the drive axles.... Checked the other side and it was tight to say the least so I left it alone....
Care drives perfect now but was just amazed at this....Did get my wheel bearing refund but paid through the nose for the new hub from Ford.

Re-check the torque spec. I think it is more like 208 ft. lbs.

214 for the early spec, revised to 208 FOOT POUNDS later on.
Not placing enough torque on the spindle will cause premature bearing failure and hub damage.

Ahhhh, I guess I was slightly off on that guess (heard the current President say that once - don't know if he meant Iraq  ) Autozone rental torque wrench does not measure that high........ Bob
