I really thought all this garbage had finally come to an end after JED's wonderful contribution to the site with his "sales." I saw so many helpful posts and everyone just coming together. Many donations to CEG to help Lance, help with Troubleshooting posts, informative new How-To's, etc.
Then I sign on tonight and read all this about Milan and I am in shock that everything great, and worth logging onto the site everyday has just coming crashing down with this. Everyone fighting, useless bickering, ridiculous polls, etc.
I really give credit to my favorite "unamed" moderators for really trying so hard to keep everything on track every single day, while others just go around tormenting, warning, and banning members. Maybe it is time for Lance to come in himself and do some "house cleaning" with some of the moderators.
I swore I wouldn't drag myself into this but I have to speak my 2 cents. The only knowledge I have of Milan is the SVTPete episode and then personally meeting him at SZ05. These are two totally opposite scenarios. First, I was personally surprised that after all that was said, he was unbanned. But he was and it seemed that everything was OK. After meeting him, he seemed to be a pretty straightup, knowledgeable, and likeable guy. What he's been able to do to his SVT is truely amazing and makes me very envious of his obvious talents. He even offered to help anyone who wished to do the same to their cars. At no time did I see anything about financial renumeration being discussed. Then, much to my surprise, he's banned again. I wonder why, but I am not a moderator (nor do I wish to be one) and am therefore not privy to the same information that they are. Herein lies the problem. If I'm not being told why he's banned, there must be a reason(s). Either it's just none of my business and I need to shut up about it and accept the moderator's decision or I need to reasonably and without personally attacking them, question the moderator's decision and expect a reasonable and unbiased reply. Everything else is extraneous and a total waste of time and words.
But all this talk of not contributing/helping/etc the only site I've frequented in the past 2 years has got to change. CEG is not only the best site for anyone with a Contour, it seems to me to be one of the best run and maintained sites I've seen. Rara, Milan, myself, and anybody else people want to drag into this, are not CEG. CEG is all of us and we deserve better than all the bickering, name calling, and general bull that has been the norm these past few days. Probably 90% of what has been said has been a complete waste of time and space. I would like simply to be told what the true story is, not that someone "has been on thin ice". Lance has endowed moderator status on certain people for a reason. This is not a democacy and will never be one simply because this site would not exist without Lance. We need to remember this and to be grateful for our site. If mods need to be changed, let the man who created the site take care of it. If he chooses not to, accept his decision. I'm not complaining, there has to be rules to make sure the site runs as best as possible. I personally don't have any problems following the rules. No one should, it's just not that hard.
All I ask is that I be reasonably informed. Again, it's just not that hard.

Thank you Tom! I thought I was going to get through this entire thread without anyone saying exactly what you said. I mentioned in another thread that I hadn't witnessed Milan's wrong doing. That doesn't exactly mean that there wasn't something behind the scenes, that has been withheld from the public of CEG. Whether the truth will come out is not up to any of us members. If the ban was unnecissary, I feel whole-heartedly that the mods will make the right decision and let Milan back in. If there was something said through a PM, email, phone conversation, fax, etc., that none of us know about, then I feel their actions are well warranted. We can speculate all we want, but until we know both stories, this thread will do nothing but stir up mixed emotions. It's killing me to see what appears to be the self destruction of CEG.  Mark

Ok I have been here for a Long time as well. Three years and some change like SAV. I read about the whole pete vs milan thing and thought it was over. Like some others I would just like to know the reason he was banned. I do think there is some favoritism on this site but what are you gonna do that is everywhere. I know I made a post that I thought was questionable but posted it anyways cause I have seen more favored and popular members post a lot worse and get away with it and yet my was deleted in under 5 hours. NOT LOCKED it was DELETED. I think voting to get somebody banned or unbanned is a bad idea thats not going to work. Do I think some of the Mods need to be replaced? Yes. Do I think Rara takes stuff overboard sometimes? Way. But that just seems how the wheels of CEG turn and you just have to learn to put up with the BS

I'm going to recap, and then lock this thread.
First, Milan was permanently banned from CEG once before, and not by me. Because I thought he could still be an overall positive for CEG, I set out to unban him. Milan and I had lengthy conversations about the rules surrounding his return. The two majors were that he was personally responsible for keeping the peace surrounding the actions/events that resulted in his initial ban, regardless of how he was prodded by others; and the second major rule was that he was not allowed to conduct business on CEG in any way, shape or form, and this includes advertising.
Milan has violated every single term of our agreement on numerous occasions (except the business thing, I'm only aware of a single violation of that rule) and I have warned him, and coached him on how to not get banned again. Yet he continued to go further and further down that path. I have been more lenient with him than ANYONE else in the history of CEG and he continued to throw it back in my face.
Of course, if you ask Milan, he will insist he did nothing wrong and he is completely innocent; just remember every prison in this country is full of people that swear they are innocent.
And FWIW, I am absolutely disgusted with the ignorant who feel it necessary to pass judgement on the situation with perhaps 5% of the relevant information. I have lost a lot of respect for certain members here today for this reason.
And as always, if you have a problem with my actions as an admin, take it up with Lance, rather than post this ridiculous drivel, which incidentally is against the forum rules as well.
