Alright.. its frustrating enough to read the drama on here, for everyone.. but the whole "I'm gonna get banned for this", "etc, etc, etc" stuff has got to stop.. it is counter-productive, and a real slap in the face to what we are trying to accomplish..
Can we please try to maintain the focus on what is ACTUALLY needed to be worked out? there are plenty of ways (as already stated) to maturely state an opinion.
Thanks, all..
Ray

I think overall this site is ran in an efficient manner.
I do believe there to be some favoritism, etc. Now about milan, without knowing what the moderators know, I have no way to agree/disagree with his banning. Maybe an elected system of moderators would be better than what we have, but that's not what the site's owner saw fit. I am just thankful we have this site and wish there wasn't always as much hoopla over bannings, thread locks, etc. Maybe ya'll can figure something out to come to an understanding.

Wow.
So I left for work and was disappointed that there wasn't a good deal of activity going on here. Not four hours later I get back home and the entire CEG Circle of Trust has just had an N12 size explosion. Jesus.
I like to think of myself as one of the senior members of the site now, having been here for three years and several months in change. I've been through all the name-changing, the hype of CI being shut down, the re-elections, the countless newbies, Perry's demise, two Dragon Runs and Spring Zings and the big feud between Milan and Pete.
A lot of people jumped on the bandwagon to shine up their e-balls back then when Pete and Milan had their showdown. What happened between Pete and Milan was the concern of Pete and Milan. Not Pete, Milan and 2/3rd of CEG. Of course, yet again, this place has a problem with everybody sticking in their "well written" opinion without knowing the whole story.
I don't know the whole story between Pete and Milan outside of what was posted online. I'm guilty of slapping down an opinion and being judgemental without knowing what is really going on. But I learned how much of a screw up that is the first time around, and I don't intend on doing it again.
Brian (Rara) is an administrator of this website because Lance appointed him to do that. Davo is a well known person on this site that has no fear of what other people think about him online. Offline and at the Iowa meets is a different story, one that I don't know of so I won't judge Davo outside of what he posts here. Pete has long agreed to assist Milan whenever Milan finally got around to posting a How-To in order to help with the projector headlamps. This is after the fact that they had a dark past. They seemed to respect one another after things eventually died, and I don't see where other members get off, especially those that weren't even around back then, trying to bring a dead horse out of the ground. It's incredibly stupid and unnecessary on these gossipers' parts.
Now, fastforwarding to August 23, 2005, these newbies seem to be back in action. If you guys seriously think that a simple poll via the public of CEG is going to get Milan back in these front doors, then you guys are honestly and wholeheartedly mistaken. This is not a democracy. Lance, Brian and the moderators are not required to do what is in the best interest of the people. That's a prime reason we now have our "rivals" over at FCO. A majority of the time, the administration acts in ways that will be most beneficial to the site as far as donations and group buys and national meets. But as far as individual members, they are not going to conduct polls and take votes on whether one member should be banned or not. There is no presidency around here. We play by their rules, not our own. To make this simpler, this is what some of you are trying to attach the label "favoritism" to. It isn't going to work.
Milan was on sketchy ground after the incident with him and Pete. Before that, he seemed to be rather arrogant with his posting but no moreso than the average cocky CEG'er. I'm sure Pete didn't go into battle against Milan with the goal in mind that Milan would be indefinitely banned. Pete just wanted a satisfactory remedy to the situation that he was in.
Inviting Milan back into our home was risky, but he seemed up to the challenge and I saw no outright offers to sell his merchandise. He is an innovator and the first to produce the halo projector lights. He has done great work. Because of that, he should receive some sort of promotion or blessed and forgiven for what he HAS done wrong? To hell with that.
Maybe Milan was banned this time by someone acting in the interest of their personal feelings towards him, but that's not the reason Milan was banned the first time. Maybe Davo should be banned along with Milan because he follows Milan around. However, if any of you happened to miss the several censors in Milan's counter-post to Davo in the Pics and Vids forum, you'd realise that Milan earned his banning because of what he said. That makes him just as guilty as Davo being an instigator, so I will have no pity party for either one of them. They both earned what is coming their way and nobody helped either one of them.
Hell, I do great work. Add to that three years of membership. I just closed up a CEG Group Buy on artist sketches. They took a lot of time, effort and patience. Does that mean I've earned the right to be upped to a moderator or to be dealt more respect or "credited sins" or any other blasphemic crap that might be in some of your heads? Some of the most honest, straightforward, laid back people on here haven't done anything outside of post. In lockstep, some of the most arrogant, selfish bastards have donated hundreds of dollars and vast knowledge to this website.
This is just how things work around here, and no poll or single voiced bitching rant will change it. I suggest that some of you guys start learning that.

There's no way to come on this site and NOT have brown stuff on your nose.
