its about 200 less than your 750dell and way better.

check it....

Thats what you need jared

I don't see how that is better than my 750 dollar Dell. The only thing that has that mine doesn't is bluetooth, but not many people use bluetooth, or even know what it is used for, to begin with. Not to mention my processor is a 1.8 versus the 1.6. Oh yea, and all of the software on it is legal.

I am normally not a Dell person either, but I think that they have great deals on laptops and would take one ANY day of the week over any HP/Compaq.

probabaly where your problem Lies..

I sell dells all day long and THEY SUCK!!!!!!

theres a reason that HP sold for 635 used and its the cheapest that model has sold for(its the third NC6000 i have sold) others where 1100 and 900.

And just a heads up all my software is legal too.but go live in your little dell fantasy world

Thanks for the input Steeda, I was actually looking at the same one last night on e-bay just browsing, and it really caught my eye... Thats basically what I want. I hear REALLY good things about compaq/HP notebooks.

oh and CeeBee... the majority of computers I have worked on with hardware and software related problems have been Dell's. I have worked on 50 some odd computers since I started doing small amounts of work here and there about a year ago... about 80% of those computers are dell's. If I get a dell, im paying for the best warrenty I can get. and if I can get a better deal else where, I probably will go else where. I honestly trust Compaq/HP for Mobility over Dell any day.

Let me just state where I am getting my input from so everyone understands me. First let me say that I have never dealt with the NC6000 model in question. As far as my opinion goes on HP/Compaq, pretty much all of my opinions are formed from the 2+ years I worked at CompUSA and the countless number of HP and Compaq laptops that came back with problems, especially Compaq. I have pretty much seen it all when it comes to those two. The only laptops that CompUSA sold that I would buy were Toshiba laptops. Secondly, I am not saying that Dell is the best laptop on the market because I know it is not, I have owned two IBM Thinkpad laptops before this and those were amazing laptops although pricey. I am just saying that the Dell laptops are great deals when they run that $750 off deal and 99.9% of the time you won't find a better deal on a new laptop, especially if you hate dealing with rebates. That being said, I still wouldn't touch a Dell desktop.

I also think warranties are good to have on laptops to begin with as long as you get the one that covers the screen as well. I have worked on my fair share of computers, as well as taken a few laptops apart, not to mention I have my Masters in Computer Engineering so I am not forming these opinions out of the blue....

As far as the legal software comment goes, it was meant as more of a joke, hence the smiley used. Since you brought it up though, you just happened to have a legal copy of AutoCAD 05(which isn't cheap) that you would install instead of keeping it for yourself?

Haha, I was just messing around anyway. I am sure I could get a copy of pretty much anything here at work if I needed it. (Lockheed Martin)
