Just sticking a cone filter in the engine bay open to the hot air isnt a good idea for an intake.
It may look cool, but its trading low end for high end.
(I dont care about peak power numbers, I want alot of area under the curve.)
Stock intake draws cold air from the fenderwell, so you just need to open the flow capability of the stock intake up.

I did a comparison of a true cold air intake (filter outside the engine bay) versus a short ram intake (cone filter in engine bay with heatshield) versus my intake setup.
Its under one of the previous posts about my setup.

How about adding some sort of tubing in the fender. If im not mistaken there was a post here a while ago (at least 2 years) about someone using dryer hose and running it into the fender to suck air in.

This thread is where someone took out the resonator in the fender. Did any of you do that when you did this mod? And if so did you add any sort of hose there to bring air in, or does it suck in plenty of air without the resonator in the fender?

Questions questions

yeh i put one of those dryer hoses threw the fender when i took out my resonator...ui need a special filter if im not mistaken..like a tornado air filter..i dunno i think i read that somewheres cause of the pressure it creates and can build up..maybe if thats when u attach it to the filter..whoi knowws anyways yeh it does work alot better i ran it out of my car to where the foglight holes are..i have a mystique so i jsut jammed the hose in that oval slot..u defintly notice power above 100 kmh it has good pick up..i reccomend it because it only costed me 6 bucks for the the hose
