Its not neccessarily CA, but I took the box off the tb and put a 90 degree there and put a cone air filter in place of the air filter box, proved to provide better throttle response

Just scroll down to BP CAI ver 2.0 - lotsa pics. Pretty much everything that you need to know. Also, please use the search feature in the future. Other members get mad when newbies don't at least do a little looking on their own.

I would suggest that you leave the plenum(black box thingy) on. It acts as an air reserve of sorts, and the idle and throttle response smoother and better.

Never heard of a CEL coming on, did you remember to reset the computer after the install? To do this pull fuses 4 and 11 in the fuse box under the hood, and leave them off for about 2 minutes or so.

If you put a filter past the MAF going toward the TB cover (in between the MAF and TB cover) no you did not do it right. You also want to leave the TB cover on too, and I hear also leave the stock filter box on, and put in a K&N flat filter and run a intake hose out of the stock filter box and out the fender well. I hear thats the most effective intake setup yet.

My intake setup, which works very well.

Since this picture I added a 3" cold air draw from the airbox to the fenderwell.
I still need to add a plenum above the TB. (Stock one works ok, but a better can be designed.)
I also need to put a scoop in the fenderwell to aim air into the airbox.
