my brother and I came up to Montreal for the weekend just to get away from home and work..We drove from MA so it took us like 4 hours..We went in my brothers g35 and man, in Vermont there were like no car nor cops..we were averaging 120 the whole up untill the border..Anywho in Montreal I was hoping I'd see some csvts but man, I saw nothing. One thing I noticed however were the front plates..none of the cars had front plates! I was like wow if I lived here I wouldn't have the 3 tickets I have now for not having front plates..Anywho my brother and I met up with some other friends from Boston and pretty much partied friday and saturday night..We stayed at the Delta Montreal, very nice place..Friday night we went to the 737 Club which is like on top of a building, man thats an awesome place..saturday we went to the 1234 Club which was pretty intense but all in all in the end the 737 was the best one..Montreal is a great city and we do plan on comming back later sometime..just though I'd share my weekend here since no one on other area's would know what I'm talking about

I live in this area and I've never seen myself a CSVT. I even rarely see Contours and Mystiques. And when I see one, it's always and old grandma driving it. I guess the sales of our cars was not succesful around here.
And lucky me, I don't have any front plate...

First off, welcome to Montreal. I hope y'all had a good time here. I lived in Quebec for 4 years now and have only seen about 3 CSVT's. There are lots of Contours but they seem to be pre 98. Mystiques are few and far between. And yes no front plate rocks.... I hope the price of our gas didn't scare you away lol.

There are many Contours and Mystiques, but their owners are either at shopping malls or sleeping, they're so old!! Seriously, in the greater Montreal area, most of the Contique owners are in the 55-over age range, bet you couldn't count all the Civics though.. In the last 3 years, I'm not sure I've seen more than 2-3 CSVTs. The 3 SVT dealers in Quebec (1 in Granby, another in Laval and the third in Quebec City) only got 8 per model year, the odds of seeing one are very low.. A salesman at the Granby dealership told me that "If we could've gotten our hands on 40 CSVTs, they'd all be sold in a couple of weeks, that model was that good." Even the FSVT is rare, they get more than 8, but still.. a rare beast! Ford never gave low rates on the FSVT, only on the non-SVT models, and most Focus buyers didn't want to spend 25,000$ on a hatchback...

Thank god you didn't see my 99 csvt, haven't had time to take care of it or wash it lately and I drove it on gravel roads 2 weeks ago... And good to know you enjoyed your trip to Montreal, it's a great place but ppl drive like maniacs here Btw, man, only 8 csvts per year per dealer ? Did they even sell 1 of the 2000 models ?

I don't think so, as far as I know the Contour/Mystique was not sold in Canada in 2000, only in the US...
