Hey, let's add some quotes from Sen. Lugar and Sen. Hagel and Gen. McPeak. Davo has to be really miffed at Hagel and George Will after this weekend, but cut them some slack, those poor guys can hardly be as well informed as Davo.

Hagel is losing touch with reality. In addition, he is also running for president in 2008 and he's positioning himself as the rogue Republican who is going to solve everyone's problems.
I don't know what Lugar or McPeak said, and I just glanced over Will's column, so I can't comment on what they said.
This isn't to say that we don't have problems in Iraq; we certainly do. But to draw a general parallel between Iraq and Vietnam is ridiculous.

With out any of us being there or knowing any of these people, how can we take what they say as truth? How can you argue something that no one knows the "real truth". By real truth, "I was there when it was said." We can argue this all day and in the end, no one it right.

It's interesting that postings earlier in this thread would suggest Davo condemns Kerry for changing his mind.

So you admit Kerry changed his mind? Wow, so that makes one liberal that is willing to admit that he flip-flopped on the issue.
If I sat here and told you I once supported Hagel, but don't anymore, yet claim that my position has never changed, then that would the same thing as Kerry did.
