Watching an auto-X is pretty cool. It's amazing to see what some drivers can do with their cars.

You should really be prepared to enter the auto-x if you come by - you have nothing to lose but $30, and you can always take it easy if you're worried about tire wear or something. But in any case, please come by - it'll be great!

its not tires... okay well that is one factor... but i only learned to drive a manual when i got this car (May) and im not too confident in my ability to race it. The big thing is that my car was totalled and reconstructed. I dont want to really push the car like that on an autoX... i havnt found any problems yet, but i'd hate to have one come up just because i did that, you know?

I can understand that.
If you decide to take your car out on the course you don't have to run it hard.
No one makes fun of you for not going fast, it was everyones first time at some point.
It's acually a very good learning experience and it gives you more confidence.
Auto_X Fil can even ride with you if you want. They also have instructors available to ride along with you to help you.

So, no need to worry if you decide to run. Take your time and have fun. Having fun is what it's all about.

If you decide not to run, no one will be upset with you.

AutoX is the best place to push the car. If nothing falls apart there you should be fine on the roads.

Also I dont think Auto_X Fil can ride along.

"Passengers: Our region allows passengers during all runs, with one exception: DURING COMPETITION RUNS COMPETITORS CANNOT BE PASSENGERS. Spectators and/or friends who are not participating in the event can ride with those who are participating. If you are a competitor and it has been observed that you have been a passenger during the competition runs you will forfeit your times for the day."

They have a novice class at CPA as well as a novice Drive Through with an instructor to show you the course. They have a novice walkthru that you will see quite a few people on.

I would shoot for getting there about 8:00 am if you want to run. I would sign up for the second heat so you can have time to see other people in the first heat and where they have problems. After that I would go out and walk thr course a few times (if you know somebody there to show you the course great otherwise just follow some people that look like they know where they are going). Try to find out your class in advance so you can just tell them. They will help you look it up if you do not know it but saves them and you time to know in advance.

They will have loaner helmets there for your use if you dont have a Snell M/SA type of helmet.

My mapquest directions sucked for getting to the airport we ended up getting close enough that we could follow the signs and showed up about an hour after we had planned to.
