As far as taking the car to the dealer to program a key, there are some locksmiths that have a computer in a suicase that can program a lot of different cars. When my son lost one of my sets of keys I bought a blank from a locksmith supply online site and then got it cut and programmed from a local locksmith that had the computer (mine is the "two key required" system). The remote I bought on ebay and at least that only requires that you have one working remote to program a second.



The process for programming a new key is easy, I found that in my owner's manual. However, as to programming a remote - do I need a working one? Because I don't have a remote at all right now, the one on the set of keys that I lost was the only one I got with the car.

I'll do some searching to find out more about this.
