now since you have a E0 you might have the older PATS system where you only need one key to program another, if so you are lucky, otherwise you need to go to the dealer to have it done



How would I find out if I have the older PATS system? I understand that the newer ones require 2 working keys, which means I would have to go to the dealer for the programming.

I found remotes and keys on ebay, but all the keys seem to be the newer PATS keys.

Also, this is not a normal issue for me. Usually it's impossible for me to lock the keys in the car, since I use the remote to lock/unlock the car, which requires that my keys be in my hand. This is also the first time I've ever lost anything and not recovered it... and due to a rollercoaster. Under normal circumstances, I know where all my possessions are at all times. Thus, this whole ordeal was very frustrating
