Rev matching makes for quicker shifting, less damage/wear, and still keeps the throttle plate open. However it also takes a lot more skill to do it quickly.

I think u are misunderstanding his statement??
*If* it's the quickest way to accelerate, and *if* you are competing to see who can accerate quickest in a drag race, then the sky must be purple.... The post that Demon was replying to when he wrote that was describing how powershifting works to supposedly achieve lower times in a Drag Race, but of-course I must be misunderstanding, you know because it would only be logical to respond to someone talking about drag race accelerating by talking about road race decelerating. My Mistake.

I didn't to begin with because Demon got the support of multiple others with how good rev-matching is over powershifting, so I was hoping to get a good dialog going that could aid everyone looking to lower their times, but now it seems that there is no such agreement, and the other thread had a bunch of smoke blowing.
