Ok u are not listening, rev matching is only done when u are down shifting!!!! Unless u are really letting the rpms drop during shifting, or decide if you coasting at 40 out of gear and then u put it into second, you want to rev match. BUt again this is for daily driving only, not racing!!
If you are cruising at 40 mphs an hour and need to pass some on on a 2 lane road. U take it out of 5th rev the motor up to where your rpms need to be at 40 mphs in 3rd or 2nd gear. I beleive second need to be at 5,100 or so nad then you slide it into gear and release the clutch. This is where rev matching is needed. Not racing.
Seriously nobody told u this!! Not on these boards
And if they are on these boards, why are u listening to them!!!!
Back to the quote I posted earlier........

Rev matching makes for quicker shifting, less damage/wear, and still keeps the throttle plate open. However it also takes a lot more skill to do it quickly.
and this driver supposedly has the one of the fastest 1/4 mile times in a contour. now back to my question, how will rev matching be quicker?
and I think I listen to DemonSVT's opinions, because he tends to be a lot more knowledgable than you.
It's just too bad he's not chiming in and explaining how to utilize rev matching in a drag race, cause if it really is quicker, I'd love to know how.
