At least he trout slapped himself, otherwise you would have needed to trout slap him.
You can do a custom turbo set up similar to mine for about $100K...
Install is a biotch!

Lets see the cost on how to build your own turbo kit. I'll do a little write up and I'll charge ya $5000. I wont even charge you tax! Sound fair? Oh you meant, how much does it cost to actually build one? Id say at least $3,000. Maybe stilov will chime in since hes done it. Only person that has done a front mount is Deanjoyce which was done by cutting out the lower portion of the front fascia (and in this case the mirko splitter).
Thats about the only way its going to happen, unless your willing to live without AC. Stilov has top mount. Nobody has done a side mount intercooler. The intercooler that comes with the ADC kit is a water/air intercooler that sits pretty much where the battery sits. (pictured below)

I think with 2 turbos (first one was bad) and everything (including ADC chip) was about 2000...but plan to have your car down for a LONG time (in fact I bought another car to drive in the meantime). and you better have a great exhaust guy, and some serious ingenuity!!! I did a top mount air/air IC with a hood scoop. I would say few people have enough drive to build one on their own. Especially when there is such a great kit on the market... your best bet is wait for ADC's budget kit.
