Redoing the office into a room for the new baby, so I'll be hooking up my system to the big screen in the living room, till I finish the office in the basement.

I'll be about 15' away on the couch from the TV (it's a 57"), so I'll need some sort of wireless keyboard with a built-in track ball or touchpad.

Is there such a beast with that kind of range? I've looked into some wireless solutions but they seem to be geared for the desktop, with only a couple feet of range.

Thanks all for any advice or tips.

15' is no problem for any of the KBs I've tried. Do they actually say the range is a few feet? I used to take my roomate's Logitech KB and lock myself in a neighboring room, trying to do things while he fought me with the mouse. It was a good 20 ft.

Know of a good one with an integrated pointing device like a trackball or touchpad?

I connected my PC to my 30" LCD in the L-Room using a double DVI video card and 15ft DVI cable but used a clipboard with the mouse pad and everything was wireless

Sorry, no particular experience with what you're looking for. Try newegg.com for ideas.

They are huge. The amount of product they move is phenomenal, and with a good deal with FedEx, the price delivered is always among the best. Add great customer service and I never bother shopping around.

I used to have the Logitech wireless media keyboard, and I was able to take that thing to bed and control the music from there. I'm not sure how far away it was, but I'm guessing between 10-15 feet. Maybe that will work for you?

I would suggest logitech keyboard and mouse LX700 but you said you wanted a built in mouse so check this out. I've hear rave reviews about it.

I have a Logitech combo at work but for the home I went with an eBay 2-tone 30 dollar combo that works up to 20+ feet (My place is not big enought to try it farther ), and it has phenomenal features. It even shuts off the mouse after 5 minutes of inactivity.
