Does anyone know of a Quebec Lemon Law Act? Bought my 98 GL on July 12th this year. After 4 days the a/c stopped working. Since I was on vacation I brought it right in. The dealer said that the mechanic was on 2 weeks holidays, but come back after this time and "we will (fix) it for free." After spending 2 weeks of my own vacation mostly driving my minivan cause it was so hot, I returned to the dealer. I said please just don't charge it check for leaks and so on. They said that this was their standard practice. The next day I picked up the car and the a/c worked fine, I asked if they had checked it over and they said there were no problems. This led me to belive it was fixed, cool once again...for about three days. Max air = hot air, so back again I go, my sales agent was friendly enough at first, she checked it out then went back to see the mechanic. Now this guy must be good because he was able to find the problem without even looking at it. He told her it was the compressor and there was nothing they could do. I gave her a few choice words and asked if I could see this automotive genius. When he got there my reply was that if it were the compressor why did it work when he charged it(making a wisecrack that that's all they did and not checked the system.) And if it is the compressor then the system should still be full. I asked him to check. Pffft that's it that's all, empty.... So the mechanic grudgingly made an appt for next week to check the system. I think I'm gonna get screwed.
