Note 12% drop in Ford cars while Jag & Lincoln grow

Ford Reports 7.4% Drop Amid Fleet-Sales Decline

Ford on Wednesday said U.S. customers purchased or leased
307,061 cars and trucks from Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Volvo
and Land Rover dealers in April, down from 318,812 a year earlier.

Ford said total car sales fell nearly 12% to 114,137 from 124,511,
while truck sales fell 4.5% to 192,924 from 194,301.

By brand, Ford sales fell 8% to 257,782; Mercury sales fell 15% to
20,768; Lincoln sales rose nearly 12% to 11,256; Jaguar sales rose
nearly 27% to 5,441; Volvo sales fell nearly 14% to 9,039, and Land
Rover sales rose 29% to 2,775.

Ford, Dearborn, Mich., noted that Jaguar and Land Rover posted
record April sales, with April marking the ninth month in a row of
record sales for Jaguar and the sixth month in a row of record sales at
Land Rover.
