Hey gang,

I still have a puddle of water on the passenger side of the carpet. Last year I took out the cowl panel and changed the Cabin air filter plus put silicone on the filter housing and under the filter housing also.

I checked and the water is comming behind the blower under the dash. So the silicone lasted only a year.

Do you have a trick to solve this for good?

Thanks,

intravino

Could also be the AC leaking in to the car.

Let me get awake and I will post more.

If it is water and if it is a small leak and you can't see water coming out under the car when the a/c is on, it could be the the drain being plugged. Big Jim mentioned in a previous post in the ARCHIVES-PROBLEMS that it could be a plugged A/C drain and the drain runs in the firewall. You need to go under the car to find it just above the exhaust. You may want to clean out the undersides first as it is difficult to find the drain. He used a coathanger wire to clear the drain and you shouldn't push in more than an inch for fear of damaging the insides.

On a related previous post, Dell Employee, this is your fix.

Hey !

I see water coming out of the car on the street when I park.

I don't think it is the AC.

Yup, that would be the condensation (frost) on the A/C lines.
Drips on the ground right by the firewall, almost at the center of the car.

i have this same problem with my car, and it's not A/C related in my case. when i go through an auto car wash, i can litteraly see the water running down my passenger side onto my floor mats in my car. does anyone know how to fix this or where it's leaking through?

Rickabod: Your problem is likely the cabin air filter.

It is under the windshield washer cowl (passenger side).

You can caulk around the edges of where that filter seals in to its holder. Suggest replacing the filter, as well, if you haven't lately. Its surely filthy, and you are breathing that stuff every time you turn your a/c or vent on.

And you may want to consider getting the Bosch filter. It is $12 and can be bought from most autoparts stores. I got mine from Autozone about 2 months ago. Big Jim just replaced his and saw that the filter part number and brand name was the same as Ford's.

Edit. Cabin filter thread.

It could also be the window seal around the bottom of the windshield

It is the A/C !

I have no more water coming out of under the car.

Also, I ran the A/C and I was seeing the Water Dripping on the passenger side.

Cool Stuff
