I didn't need to cut the tweeters from the crossover - all my tuning was done via HU. Like I said before - once you get the speakers in the car they sound differently than they do on the wall of the audio shop. You have the rest of your system working with it and you also have the Contour's acousticaly poor nature to contend with. It's been my experience that tweeter location has more to do with "sharpness" than speaker specifications in a car. I kept the tweeter on the bridge in front of the driver ala coaxial. For me it kept the soundstaging correct and it kept the tweeter from blowing my brains out which it's fully capable of. I run my crossover in Bi-Amp, 0db and SQ1.
