OK, I've never said anything about deportation. I personally think that we simply need reform in our immigration laws and how we deal with Mexico as a whole. On top of that, we need to secure our borders (even with Canada, so this isn't a racial thing).
Amnesty may have failed in the past, but backed with the right changes today I think it would be a good move for the US as a whole. Like it or not, we have an enormous illegal population. If we were to make the needed changes, and award citizenship to the currant illegals we all would be better off as a multi-racial society..... like America has always been.
If I could demand anything, it would be for anyone who wants to live here to atleast embrace being an American just like your family sounds to have done.
