the only immigrants i have ever heard of that avoided banks and were robbed by their own people because of it are asians. for awhile it was pretty common to see on the news how some stupid korean or vietnamese kids (gangsters) would rob some poor family ala home invasion style to take their money that they "knew" the family would be hording "in the mattress". supposedly this is because in their home countries they have severe distrust of banks. i have never heard of this happening to a latin family and have never heard of a latin family that has $20k stuffed inside their mattress. gangsters dont rob families for $200. i do know someone was murdered by the russian mafia in a scheme where they kidnapped wealthy russian business owners in order to extract money from their families knowing they wouldnt turn to the police. the familiy paid big $ for this poor guy and his body was still dumped in a lake near Sacramento, along with some others. it was all over the news. this was a friend of a friend of mine. mexicans have no problem calling the police cuz everyone knows that the "hudda" cant ask for any proof of citizenship and cant even call la migra if they suspect you are illegal. i dont know where you get your information but it is factually quite inaccurate.
hell, i was at the bank (wells fargo) just two days ago on the east side of the valley on a friday afternoon just before closing. there were about 50 effing people ahead of me and i think i was the only person who spoke english, including the employees! when i got to the window, the guy started speaking to me in spanish. i asked him if he spoke english cuz i barely speak spanish. my father and sister's neighborhoods are full of illegal immigrants who are buying houses like crazy. you know how they do it? they get about ten family members to sign onto the loan. and guess what, the banks are clamoring over each other to sell them 1/2 million dollar POS houses. which helps inflate the cost of housing around here. dont say they like to contribute or keep the money in the US. half the cars in my dad/sister's neighborhoods are brand new Ford trucks and SUVs. they love those POS fords! and no, theyre not gangbanging drug dealers or farm workers. most have retail or factory jobs. it doesnt take much to finance a brand new ford these days.
speaking of drug dealers. there wouldnt be any drug smuggling if there werent any doped out americans to demand it. supply and demand! raise your hand if you or someone you love smokes weed. i dont know any illegal, poor, mexican immigrants who own airplanes or ships...i also dont know any illegal mexican immigrants who are addicted to speed or coke or heroin. i doubt many have the extra cash to waste on pot either, that is a luxury poor people usually cant afford. especially if theyre trying to send a few bucks back home.
