Damn, I got my Accusump and it came with the 40psi switch It looks like I'll have to hold off on using it until I can get the lower psi switch

the 40 psi switch will work, your accumulator will simply be open more often making it act more like a standard electric valve.

I have the 35-40 Psi valve on my car right now... Works fine

The only concern I have is that according to my oil pressure gauge, pressure at idle when warm is below 25 psi.

Are there any negative consequences to having 7+ quarts of oil in the engine at idle?

just because the valve is open it does not mean all the oil is in the engine. As long as the oil pump is inducing pressure, there will be oil in the accumulator.

Technically speaking you do not need ANY valve on the accumulator, the system would work fine, except pre-oiling would not be possible since no oil would remain in the accumulator once the engine is off.
