As for your 1-2 gear harsh shift, this also is a common issue. Its called a bang shift, you need the updated shift sensor (TSS) from ford... Costs about $20 and takes you 15 minutes to install...




If the tranny has been overheating for some time, better do the drain and refill now as the the fluid is probably on its way to brown. (and you don't know what type of fluid AAMCO might have put in).
