When that package shows up in the next day or two Josh, you better get your ass on here. If the additonal tracking slips aren't in the package, then forget it. I'll deal with her since my "lazy ass" can't get out and do things myself. I don't care about 30 bucks, big f'ing deal.
OMG this is so typical. Blame it on anyone but yourself. Be a man and take responsibility for your actions. What a moron.

I was about to post about this. Good point ESC. Main reason I don't think that USPS tracking systems are very helpful, specially with slower services such as standard and first class. You don't see anything "recorded in their system" till the package hits dead front door floor matt. Priority and Express mail have similar tracking characteristics, but are much more guaranteed services and have a 99.9% success ratio to meet the time of delivery promised, unlike UPS.
Fedex is pretty good but for the price of $7.70 you can send an item in a large flat rate box (USPS) with a 2-3 day transit vs the same price and a 7 day delivery through FedEx or UPS ground.

Well, she went there and paid for Delivery Confirmation... is that the same as tracking? I rarely ship packages via USPS, not sure how they work with this stuff. I have the "US Postal Service Delivery Confirmation receipt" and "Receipt for Domestic Insured Parcel" and the cash receipt from the Post Office in my hand. Shipped out of "Mt. Clemens, MI USPS Sortng Facilty".

Nope, read the previous 2-3 posts. I use USPS on a daily basis and as the name implies, DC is what it is, just a confirmation of when the thing hits the recipients door.

What am I blaiming? What issue is there? I don't nderstand. I was asked specificaly by X (guess I should have quoted him)... to go "ship it myself" by X. That was my reasoning. And I am faulting her only at the respect that she did not send it the method I had told her too
Not sure what I'm supposed to be "manning up to"? Not sure what "Actions" have happend. . The fact is, it's in the mail, for the 3rd time, and on its way.

Those are the only scenarios where I use USPS. The lack of a real tracking number is bad when shipping to customers, but in certain cases it's either way cheaper, way faster, or both to to ship USPS. Small packages, long distance, APO, rural are all situations where USPS is probably the better choice.
There's no way to know about that package until it gets (if it gets?) delivered. I've had packages claimed lost/never delivered before and I'd have to tell the customer to wait 2 weeks because USPS Priority is NOT time guaranteed. They suggest 2-3 business days and are generally good about it, but you need to pay for Express for time-definite delivery. 2 weeks is what USPS will tell you to wait, in the mean time I just plug in the scanner (so much easier these days with USB and auto loading drivers) and send off a copy of the receipt with package number to my customer. Then follow up in 2 weeks and process the claim if it still hasn't arrived.

You must work for the post office! I will have that done here shortly and get it over to Josh...if only he had a working email besides his powdercoatingworld.com. email. Unless it is working and it has emails blocked/Spam Filter on hydro Drive/ In Box Full.
