Anyone know what he said?
WTF would they need to pull the motor.. for what reason? If the engine blows up? You just might blow the motor exerting nearly no resistance on the motor tuning it this way. Engine only dyno's are only good for complete engine rebuilds with MASSIVE amounts of torque/power and where little efficiency is lost between the motor, transaxle and wheels (read NOT the contour--F1, HUGE V8's, etc, etc). A What are you wanting to achieve with an Engine dyno? I dynoed the VR6 motor out of my Jetta to get 219hp/221 torque... but that meant [censored] to the ground (197hp/201 torque). Standalone engine dynotuning will be a waste of your time and money. Get teh engine in the car, and go to a reputable place to dyno tune THE CAR WITH THE ENGINE, not just the engine!

I will have massive torque and horsepower. I have the diamond pistons, skirts coated. Pauter rods coated, tri-metal bearings coated.. I figure i could get real crank horsepower figures then dyno the car on a chassis dyno to see what the loss really is.
PLEASE HELP ME GET MY CAR TOGETHER! ITS IN DAYTON OHIO! I need the motor together and in the car so i can DRIVE it! Pleeeeeese!

Then the point of your post was what?? If you are so "pumped" on dynoing the enigne out of the car... then why bother asking for input? Like mark said... What do we know?
Your engine mods list doesn't really convince me (or anyone quite frankly) that you are going to be squirting out HP/tq numbers with more than you know what to do with. Just remember how many people have spun their rod bearings, etc, after a complete rebuild because the car's motor was not broken in correctly. As soon as they juice that NEVER RAN motor up to 8800RPMS (Where they take most engines on Engine Dyno tunes (well, they took mine that high)and have that thing screaming...you'll be sweatin' then.

I also say do what you want.....
It is my opinion, that through the hard work and research of those in ceg's past and present, we are now just starting to find out exactly what is capable with these cars. Since you are doing a setup never tried before(that i'm aware of) i say throw it on an engine dyno first, solely for the ease of parts swap ,and diagnosis while the motor is out of the car, and save your power and final tune pulls for when the engine is in the car...the last thing you need is to put this engine in the car un tested and discover a fatal flaw.
look a the Mumm brothers, i'm sure there near 300hp n\a 2.5 had more than enough enigine dyno time on befroe it was i nthe car for the fist time

If they have the ability to engine dyno it, go for it. Its a great way to break in a motor and play with settings. But I would only do it if you have the turbo kit bolted to it. Other wise its a bit useless. Average engine dyno rentals are in the ballpark of $5-600 a day though. There most likely going to have to make an adapter(s), not to metion messing with the harness. But its nothing that hasn't been done before. Yes they can simulate for load of a transmission. You should be able to get a good ball park of tuning done, and survive enough to drive around, but most definitly will need to be tweeked on a chassis dyno or hard street driving as well to make it absolutly perfect. Its just money
