lol, with all my school loans and everything i think that Fords in general might be out of the question. i'm looking more in the market for a Huffy or BMX, maybe spend a little more and get a Diamond Back.
i just thank God that it didn't happen on the interstate with my son in the car, that could have been messy

In my book, all Contours are "lemony".
Cliff,
Get something reliable to get you and your son to point A and B without having to Fix Or Repair Daily or to be Found On Road Dead.

I must say, before my car got modified, I had 0 problems with it. It was great as a stock car that took quite a bit of abuse. Originally posted by SVT PETE: Originally posted by Quick_SVT: Sell that lemon and buy the TG i posted!

My SVT has been flawless! My SE on the other hand is a straight up maintainence whore! nothing that ever left me stranded though... well besides this one time it snowed/freezing rain/ice and the parking brake cables locked the rear wheels and i wasn't able to get out of a parking space. Talk about embarassing...

IMHO, the well known and common transmission failures/breakdowns and oil starvation issues are enough to quantify the platform as lemon-like.

There maintainence whores, but you guys seem to have more serious issues or just plain bad luck with yours Scares me a lil because i beat the horse piss out of mine and it just comes back for more, if the motor or tranny goes it just gives me a reason to upgrade

98+s, sure. Pre98s don't have the transmission problems, the gearbox is laid out differently. I've always believed that the SVTs were prone to more engine problems, too, because they're more "high-strung", if you will.
