Just find a local beige box builder. They'd be better than any of the sh!t those companies make for the price...

Funny, in my 3 hours after posting my last message, I happened to work on this Dell Dimension 8100 with a IBM Deskstar.

Maybe next time you should get your facts straight before trying to call someone out. And yes, the hard drive is original since it has a Dell P/N on it.
Now back to original thread topic.

(Sorry if this has been posted already)
I'll teach you how to build your own. I've been building my own PCs/PCs for my moms cilents for 4 or so years now. Its really just like a big lego set....a lego set that you can fry with a little static electricity. But for about a grand you can build a decent gaming class pc. Something that would cost around 2K from dell/alienware/ect.

Who the [censored] said E-Machines was good, [censored] Emachines We fix more E-machines at work than Dells Emachines, Symptoms "Unit does not power up" Ok... Test PSU, Oh, PSU is dead... ok, try new PSU, system does not power on. Seems to be a VERY common problem. Buy an E-machines from Best buy, better get a Service plan

Yeah, I've dealt with alot of those cases. Seems that the brand they use for power supplies have a tendency to not just die but also damage other parts in the process.
