To get the rear emblem off I used a thin knife. However, I recommend the dental floss method for both of them.

-Using something very thin, push a loop of dental floss into the crack and behind the emblem.
-Go back and forth with it, and try sliding it to the side.
-For the front, remove the grille with the two screws up top, and the two tabs on the bottom. Use a screwdriver and put the tabs out.
-There are two 10mm nuts on the back of the grille that hold the emblem on. There are two parts to that emblem. The backing and the emblem.

That's how you get them off. Take care not to cut your hands with the floss. If the front isn't working, try putting it in boiling water to soften the adhesive.

Thanks Chris...tried the dental floss method to no avail the last time. Maybe I just need to stick with it a little longer and hopefully I'll get it, I want painted emblems!!

By the way on the rear pry from the top because it has a tab in a slot at the bottom AND IT WILL NOT come out if you pry it from the bottom!

Correct! The same applied for the front one. I forgot to mention that. Thanks, Howard.

I spent $11 for a new front emblem and used the old chrome piece and the new ford emblem. The back emblem is $16, I bought it anyway. I figured it would be easier than messing with the ones on the car. I figured I would crack one of the damn things anyway. They look good, I will put them on tonight on my white 98 SE.

What type of apoxy should I use? I want something that is garranted not to come off.

Just wait until the Saturday night, and I will help you if you come to Keller's. Also, do you have dual exhaust?? I saw someone on NW-HWY about a month ago with a nice white SE with dual's. It sounded nice. Was that you?? Hope you can make it Saturday.

I just did my rear!! WOHOO looks awesome! my front was chipped already so I took the darn thing of and I going to put a silver mesh there instead. If u are trying to get the rear logo off all u need is to things. 2 thin small screw drivers and a friend. Just push the screw driver all the way in on the right side and lift slowly. As soon as its lifting get your friend to put in a second one and slowly lift. Try to be careful and gentle and your set. Will post pics when got chance. LOOOKS SWEEEEET! Thanks Chris for the idea. Sorry about the long post. cool
