As far as the pieces that came off, I pulled it off, sanded the emblem, then placed it back on very gently. I didn't glue it on, I just painted over it. After that, I just glued it on to the backing. That held it in just fine.
I ended up putting a small dimple through the plastic, the paint covers it up. How long did you wait for the paint to dry, and what kind of glue did you use? I've pulled the paint off twice with the glue.
For your other post on the painted oval, did you do that yourself? I would love to see a how-to for it, tried on my last oval and the paint chipped away pretty quickly.
