On the streets and in the twisties, there's no difference between a 600 Supersport and a liter supersport. Only on the track will you notice/NEED the difference.
I suggest you go to a dealer and sit on several different models to find one that fits your body. I can't fit on many supersport bikes because of my height. I've been VERY happy with my SV. I can keep up with the novices on the 'R' bikes in the twisties just fine.
