Just thought I'd tell you what you want to hear, as it doesn't appear you are looking for honest advice. Good luck on your dance with death.

I am actually looking for honest advise. I have been talking to the few guys who have answered my question honestly and taking what they say into consideration. Ill probly end up buying a 600 or 750 rather than a 1000. And if you actually read through the posts too you have seen that too. Witha ll the posts you have im wondering how much you actually read

He has a point.

I fail to understand why people think anything below a 600 is going to be 'boring' or, 'not fast enough'.

An 500R/ex500/GS500 all run the quartermile in 13 seconds. 600's do it in 10's. Would you give the keys to a 10 second, 1000hp Mustang to a brand new driver as his first car ?

Not only that, but I guarantee you will drop the bike, if you haven't done so to your friends already, during a low speed maneouver. You have to be really skilled, and have really good clutch work to do a U-turn on a 600, much less a super peaky R6 or R1.

Unless of course, you're just getting one to impress the chicks and show off at Starbucks, (which is why I want a new 636 heh) then by all means buy the shiniest bike you can. Chrome it out and go crazy. Just don't blame anybody else when you dump it on a left turn intersection.

the new 636 is awesome! if you think that isn't peaky then you need to look at your info again....

the Kawi's have been up in the front of the supersport class for the past 3 years. its a Bad ass bike!

i would get a zx-6r(636) over almost any other 600 out there

His question was legitimate for an accurate answer...or at least very good advice for a first bike.

So much is covered on this site its hard to find something that hasnt been covered at least once. Its just stupid to tell people to search everytime a question comes up that can be answered with a short explanation. Im sure it took you longer to post that pic than it would have to just tell me the the answer. And "taking a mental note" Thats just stupid. You can rest asured i wont be asking anything else on this site.

The R6 is a great bike, you can't beat the sound they make at 15,000 RPMs. In my opinion an R6 will not disappoint you, and the insurance is cheaper too. I've ridden and R6 for about three years now and I'll keep it until I buy a new one or until it dies.

Yeah i have been looking at them online and they look just like the R1. Maybe a R1 isnt a good first bike afterall. I really think im gonna get the R6.

Well, thanks a lot to those of you who really tried to help me out and offered good feedback.

It's gonna be a shame when (not if, when) you drop your brand you 11k bike and destroy about 7k worth of plastic.

Get a cheaper used bike, like a 250R or a gs500/500r and use that for a few months to get the hang of things.

Seriously.

But if money doesn't mean anything to you, and you're hellbent on getting a new bike, get a F4i. They are the most beginner friendly bikes out there and aren't as twitchy in handling, or as peaky as the others.
