Right now the plan is that my fiance and I are going to buy bikes over the winter, that way we can get a better price. She basically has her mind made up that she wants an 05 Vulcan 800 Classic. My mind on the other had has been jumping from bike to bike. I have narrowed my search down to 3 bikes. I WOULD LIKE ANY INFO OR SUGGESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. Oh, and this will be my first bike. Here are my top choices.

1. 2000 and up Yamaha R1.

2. 2003 and up Triumph Daytona 600 or 955

3.Honda CBR 1000rr. lease favorite

I bassically have heard the whole speach for a few people about starting small and working up to a bigger bike. I have taken many friends bikes for rides and know what there about. I dont really want to buy a smaller bike (600-750cc) and then have to then go and purches a bigger one later.

Again, ANY info you have on these or other bikes would be great !! Thanks

personally, i'd do the R1, then the honda.

get the triumph is exclusivity is important to you, but be prepared for higher maint. costs and a general unavailability of parts and aftermarket for them.

Well, if you actually read my post you would have seen that i said i have taken a few of my friends bikes out for rides. You cant really give an acurate answer if you havent read the post your answering to.

Unless you have some substantial seat time on those bikes, you should start with something smaller to gain experience & confidence. But, based on your defensive response here, you already know everything & everbody else is stupid. So do whatever you want.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Yeah, the 955 and the R1 are my top choices. But leaning more to the Yamaha R1.

My response to him was no worse than guys on here jumping all over others for not searching. He asked a question without reading my post. How is it diffent ?

It is amazing how people ask for simple help and advise and it doesnt take more than 4 or 5 post before there is a bunch of jackasses ruining the post.

Is it too much to handle even if i take it easy on it till i get used to it ? The biggest bike i have ridden is a 750cc.
