any thoughts?

Changed the ATF recently? Check level and color. Should be clear pink/red. Buy a litre of mercon and compare (put on white paper towel). What about fuel filter (changed in the past 18 months or so?). And check air filter.

Air Filter is clean (its a open air), ATF was changed mid summer, fuel filter (I was told) is rusty and could use a replacement. I was also suggested get the plugs and wires look at as well.

I think I'm gonna get those three( fuel filter, plugs and wires done). aside from those three, what else could it be?

One other thing I forgot. Put in some gas stabilizer (HEET or similar) just in case there is water in the gas tank.

The gasoline that you pump at the gas station will have a small amount of water. Sometimes, the underground or above ground storage tanks (ASTs) have water in them or leak water in them.

This is how the gasoline terminals operate (in most terminals I have worked in anyway). When gasoline is being pumped into the 8K tanker trucks, some will spill at the terminal. The gasoline is washed down and it goes to a Oil/water separator which is then pumped to a regular or lower octane gasoline million gallon AST to be pumped into another 8K tanker truck. Water is supposed to be sucked out of the bottom of the million gallon AST "every now and then" (how often, terminal manager would not say or was not at liberty to say). In addition, after repairs or after installing a new tank, a hydrostatic test is conducted using water (yes, water) to determine the integrity of the tank. If it doesn't leak then, they will discharge the water but not all water gets discharged and they sure don't wait a few days (for it to dry) to fill it up after passing the test.

well I believe she's fixed. I havve not had a stutter since. I did find that the fuel filter was indeed blocked, and the plugs were in need of changing.

Thanks for everyones help
