I had the leak repaired and i dont think there is another since it does cool enough to get "fresh" air, unlike the horribly hot air that it used to blow. I havent smelled any more refrigirant (sp?) so im sure there is no leak. The shop said that the compressor was still fine (a little noise) for 80k miles, so im hoping that the switch is the fix.

It's not the switch.

You described exactly how a system that is loosing its charge behaves over a several day period. Soon, the clutch won't engage at all.

Take it back to the shop since it's still leaking.

I now think you're right projectsho. Today the air got a little less cool and i recharged the ac with around half a can of refrigirant and it cooled nicely for the rest of the day, hopefully tomorrow too until i can drop the car off at the shop.
