Yes and yes. Put the heat shield back and the IAT sensor, clear the code (unplug fuse 4 and 11 for a minute or so) and you should be fine.
Edit. Unless the IAT was damaged by the heat from the engine while it was outside.
Edit. Note after unplugging the fuse, the car will run rough for a few drive cycles, unless you do the OBD II drive cycle (procedure in the manual). If you don't have an owner's manual. Here is the site to download one.
