This problem could be several things. It could be absolutely unrelated to the air filter/MAF/IAT sensor.

An Autozone will scan your computer for this problem (At No Charge, Free, No Money Required), which will give them a CODE. Ask for the code. Ask.

Once he/she gives you said code, POST IT HERE. Post it. Then, we'll be able to provide the best advice. Right now, we are just guessing.
