the issue of using other soap is so that for people who have spent the time to wax their car by hand, using the soap or similar soap that accompanies that wax keeps for a better finish, as it has been said over and over again that the formula of soap in the auto dry strips top coats of wax therefore making waxing efforts null and void unless you want to wax your car completely EVERYTIME you wash it.....

I use the cheap blue walmart stuff... coral i think it is. Works fine without any problems. Or you can just wash the car yourself, and use the autodry for the spot free rinse. Or buy one of those filters for your hose.

I just used one for the first time last weekend and had the same issue with leaks.
My windows were also all hazy too. I'm still trying to get rid of all the haze, but it just doesn't want to come off. Anyone else have this issue? Could it be cause I used an ENTIRE bottle of soap to wash my car? (It was REALLY dirty, damn dust and thunderstorms)

I found that the Mr. Clean Auto Dry was leaving spots on my car, so I have stopped using it. Another issue I had with it was once I used a bucket of water (w/ the auto dry soap in it) and sponge in conjunction w/ the Auto Dry. My sponge developed this sticky goo all over it, which I figured could not be a good thing! I don't know if it was a reaction with the wax or what...but I could never get my sponge clean again!

the reason it was leaving spots was because you were washing your car in the sun , it has to be done in the shade or it will leave spots, (learned from expierence)

It was in the shade..late afternoon when the sun is not very high in the sky. I was never satisfied w/ the DI rinse, it's too weak! I think I didn't quite get all the soap off quick enough and that's what caused my spotting issues.
