I have a sponsorship with Aerogear for my car and have direct contact with the company's owner and wanted to see if any of the contour crowd would be interested in this style hood. I know most of the Contour owners group is fairly conservative but there are some here that like the wild stuff as well. If this post genrates enough enthusiasm I will bring it up with them and see what they would be willing to do. These hoods will also be available in carbon fiber this fall. Aerogear is also the maker of the z3 fenders you see on all the sport compacts and I could speak with them about the fenders as well. With a fiberglass hood and fenders mondeo head lights and the mondeo projector head lights would not be a difficult swap.

Here is a pic of the hood.

A simple CF or fiberglass hood with a single functional NACA scoop over the filter area would be the biggest seller. Get one of those made and I will put off carving a hole in my fender for a NACA scoop.

Well they would not start out an entire new mold process. They already have the pradator hood for the cougar which shares similar measurements. They would be able to make the contour mold with minimal effort. If they were to do anything it would be just what is on my cougar. Have any of you guys approached Cervini's? They make fiberglass hoods for a ton of cars including the focus. Their hoods are much more subtle.

ill take one, as long as the price is reasonable! and by the way what do you use on your car to get that kind of shine?

It is new paint only 72 hrs old wink

the hoods sell for $425 + shipping and are gelcoated and ready to paint. mine had zero body work. Just 2 coats of high build primer, wetsand with 1000 grit and then base/pearl/clear

The fenders sell for about $325 shipped

If there is intrest I will propse this to thema nd see if we can get the ball roling I would love to have a fiberglass clip on my gf's car so we could do the headlight swap for the paintable mondeo projector lights.

sounds good, hard part might get them to make them for both 95-97 and 98-00 contours. im sure there will be more interest in the 98-00 models, but ill push for the pre 98 hoods and fenders! and how about you hook me up with getting sponsored!
laugh

i doubt you would be in luck with a pre98 but you could do the newer headlights and bumper if you were to change the hood and fenders. This would be aimed toward the newer body style as I have never seen a pre 98 at a show. I usually see 1 or 2 svt Contours at the big shows.

well yeah i could do that, but with all the time i put into molding the front bumper, i still want it to look original and have the 96 front end.

True i see your point but you would be very original to have a pre 98 with new style front clip wink I would love to see the mondeo projectors in amy's car. I think they look so sweet!
