Not entirely true. The 4L V10 engine constructed by Engine Developments Inc. is actually a former Yamaha F1 engine. The no.16 Pescarolo used this engine to finish second at Le Mans this year; they completed 368 laps and over 3,100 miles.
Something that will REALLY never happen is a Cup motor turning 19,000 rpm.
Learn something new everyday, didn't know about F1 engines lasting that long. Hell, they [censored] and moaned when they wern't allowed to change engines after pratice (Look at all the engines that blew in the first few races after the rule change) . Look at the power bands and you will see why you will never see a Nascar engine turn 19K. F1 motors make all their power at 15-18K. Nascar makes almost that much at 8-9K. Don't get me wrong, we talking about different engines here. I don't expect them to perform the same since we are comparing apples to oranges.
The old saying that Nascar is for rednecks is just flat out ignorant. There are many company VP's that watch these races live and love them. If a company VP's making 6-7 figures is a redneck. I'll be a redneck anyday. What am I talking about, I am a redneck anyway.
Just a Plain SE.
